Apostasy in Islam

Apostasy in Islam

Ibn Warraq states that many muslims “leave” Islam and convert to other religions. But he hopelessly fails to show any evidence for that kind of allegation. Plus who are these people? I can say that many atheists convert to Islam, and give a big number or stat yet I would need to prove it. Ibn Warraq just shoots off his mouth without proving much. Plus I can only think of four well known apostates who left Islam, yet I can think of atleast 7 or 8 former Christians or Atheists who converted to Islam. So Islam is winning actually not losing. Plus if you leave Islam, why would you run around and say so? It’s a well known fact that apostasy in Islam is punishable by death, so why not hide behind a false name like Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina? Why use your real name, and post pictures about your self?

Answering the Alleged apostates

If one were to go to faithfreedom.org or Ibn Warraq’s site, secularism.org you would read supposed “Testimonies” of people “leaving” Islam. Most of these testimonies are bogus and just downright lies told about Islam and Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him. And I have to ask, who are these people? And why are there stories very bizarre, downright absurd and just plain ignorant when it comes to the teachings of Islam? I don’t believe that Ibn Warraq is a apostate from Islam… desprite what he may write. There is a lack of evidence in Warraq’s book that points to his apostatsy. For example he says that the Quran says the Books of the Bible, the Torah, The Psalms, and the Gospels are all accepted and not corrupted. This of course is not true. The Quran clearly says that the Old Testament is corrupt (Sura 2:79 and Sura 3:78). The Quran also states that the New Testament is corrupt (Sura 4:157 and sura 5:13-14). Honestly I knew that the Quran said that they Bible was corrupt….when I was 10. Ibn Warraq now around his 60’s (he was born in 1946) doesn’t know that. Another problem is that Warraq states he was forced to learn about Islam and the Quran, let he relies heavily on translations of the Quran and not only that he takes accounts of the Western view of Prophet Mohammed instead of Islamic accounts of his life. What does all this tell you? Warraq is not educated on Islam at all.

Now getting to the apostate stories, they are very hard for me to take seriously. The reason why is because of their downright ignorance when it comes to the Islamic religion. Plus there is no credible proof of truth to their apostasy stories or their anti-Islamic claims. Almost all their claims can easily be addressed and taken care of, but they refuse to let go of their ignorant views on Islam. There is a saying if you don’t understand the other side of the arguement, you really don’t understand your own. And I can understand what Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina’s crowd wants others to know. Most of these so called “apostates” were abused in the time of Islam, either by their parents or by their Islamic teachers and this causes them to hate Islam, as they grow up and they somehow find all kinds of smut on the internet about Islam and then make up a story about leaving Islam using the smut on the internet as reasons for leaving Islam. So really these alleged apostates are hurt children, neglected teenagers and bitter adults writing about Islam. And their refusal to look at the Islamic answers to the anti Islamic polemic, just adds to their own ignorance. Plus, how exactly does “leaving” Islam benefit anyone? All the other religions and their books, have been tampered with ( see how the Bible got changed chapter for this) and their religions have no proof for their dogma. Islam is the only religion on the face of this earth which not only has evidence for it but makes sense if you think about it. And that’s why Islam to me is a perfect religion. So maybe the Muslims may not always be good people, just like Christians aren’t always nice, neither or Jews or Hindu’s etc, but that doesn’t mean that the religion is bad or evil like the alleged apostates are writing.

Ibn Warraq is the editor of the Book “Leaving Islam” published 2003. However the problem is how do we know that Warraq did not just make up these testimonies? Are we just to believe him? Anyone will do anything for shameless self promotion or publiclity. Plus Islamaphobic bigots are all over the internet. Ibn Warraq is a critic on Islam. Now these hate mongers can stumble arcoss Warraq’s web site or Ali Sina’s and make up an absurd story of leaving Islam and post it on their webpage. People will believe it because they are guillable. Too gulliable in fact. However the lack of evidence and proper understanding of Islam has lead me to question their apostasy stories and label them as fiction. In this world there is fact and fiction. And its sad to see more and more people making up fiction about Islam and telling fictional stories of “leaving” Islam rather than sticking with the facts….the fact that Islam is truly the religion of God Almighty and that Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings on him is truly the final prophet of God.

So yes, I don’t believe the apostasy stories that circulate Warraq’s and Sina’s site and books. Just like I don’t believe in the toothfairy, The New Testaments story about Jesus, or the apostasy stories of leaving Christianity on exchristians.net. And neither should you.
